Hello there, I have been trying to find the answer to my question on this forum. I've read something similar but not exactly, so here I am to see if someone can help with my question.

I am a Canadian citizen married to an Argentine. We are and have been living in Argentina for the past few years. We plan to move to Canada in the near future so we are planning to start the process and apply outside of Canada next year, from Argentina.

My husband already has a tourist visa valid for 5 years (expires in 2015), so my question is would his tourist visa become 'invalid' or affected in any way automatically after he applies for PR? We go to Canada to visit my family every year so I want to make sure it won't be a problem with him entering the country when the application is in process.

Any advice or experience would be much appreciated! Thank you!!

Hey,

the visa won't be affected, it's 2 different processes. So your husband can come and go out of Canada with the tourist visa until the PR is granted. Once the PR is granted and he lands as a PR, then his tourist visa will be taken away, but it won't matter as he will be a PR.

Good luck with the process,
Sweden
