Interesting. I was just going to ask why the emphasis on an Indian mailing address. Did they specifically mention that it's illegal for them to mail the passport to another country? I ask because I have listed my Canadian home address as mailing address for my spouse residing in Afghanistan on the forms.

Salam! do u mind sharing your timeline?
and I have also included my Canadian mailing address on the forms...I'm curious because since Peerzad brother have clearly said and experienced that India will not sent Passports outside Indian Territory and I'm a bit worry now as if this situation comes on us how would we deal with it?....So far they are communicating with my spouse through my email as a fact that I recently got a letter from Delhi Immigration asking for some proof of docs...

Omg i received a letter today from Delhi Immigration office and they asked my spouse to provide 2 things:

1) the proof of payment for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee to our office in Mississauaga or by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
2) Submission of PCC for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted

What should I do now?? Please anyone help me!! I already paid my PR fee and have submitted my PCC at the time of submitting applications i dont know what to do now:( ::)

Congrats bro. I think Pameerzad is correct when reading the conversations of you two. You can send them the copies of these if you already sent just so you are not worried. Plus they always need an address in India if they are working on your file in New Delhi.

No, I have not received anything yet. I guess wife's cases are actually faster.

Salam to all,

I received the same letter but I didn't submit any document for Permanent residents fee and personal police certificate, BECAUSE it clearly says if you haven't submitted it yet. If you have submitted these two documents with your forms, then you don't need to resubmit them.

If you want to submit these two documents, you should submit them to Mississauga (Not sure about the spelling) office. Because the letter says so.

1. Payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, IF NOT ALREADY SUBMITTED.
2. Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, IF NOT ALREADY SUBMITTED.

Peerzad, among us all, your case seems to be ahead of all Mashallah. Would you mind telling us how did you submit the passport? I believe your spouse have to live in India for that duration to get his/her passport with visa back. How did you manage all these or you simply made the arrangement for your spouse to live there for that duration. Because your relative can not post the passport to Afghanistan and I don't think so if your spouse could use it because she needed to stamp the passport for the enter/exit in India. I am not sure about this legal thing, but it seems so.

My bro works with Brithish forces and they mailed it from their camp with Royal Mail ... You don't need to be in India to submit a passport.. Now it's different because New Delhi is in charge of Afghan Spouse cases so it's normal.. If they request for passport just send it with someone in person , because all couriers doesn't accept passports , it's prohibited to mail out passport .. They asked me for an address in India so they can send back the passport with visa ..

To all those guys who are getting email from NDVO something like this :

Its not asking you to submit anything, its asking you only for those documents if you have already not submitted them with you application.. That letter is a computer generated letter , they won't open your files for another 5-6 months so they don't know what you have included and what not..

If you have already submitted once to Mississauga you don't need to do it again.. I hope it clear things up because I saw quite a few people were asking same question on other forums.. I THINK MOST OF YOU GUYS DON'T READ THIS PART OF THAT LETTER ( If NOT ALREADY SUBMITTED )
