The Canadian company I work for has recently sponsored an employee for BCPNP. We have also employed a retail specialist from Europe and currently in the process of waiting for the conformation of the AEO.
Goodness, are we having to jump through hoops!!. My company is probably one of the largest retailers in Canada, a household name, with a good reputation and yet we have already had a visit from Service Canada to inspect us. Although I was not at the meeting, my GM gave me a run down on some of the questions that were fired at him. The usual questions and information were asked, trading accounts, advertising, employees qualifications etc but then they also asked such things like, had we been approached by an agent, had the employee paid an agent or consultant, had we received any payment by the applicant or an agent for the job.
Seriously, the GM was grilled for nearly an hour, mostly about the genuineness of the position offered. Fortunately, the job offer is genuine, the future employee is acceptable due to her unique marketing skills and experience and they went away happy with the information provided.
If my company is being subjected to being scrutinized so vigilantly, imagine what smaller, non household named companies are having to go through.
Buyer beware!!!!!......AEO is no longer a fast tracked guaranteed PR route. This is a warning to all those people whom have been approached to pay money for a job that is not genuine....DO NOT DO IT.....you will lose your money and probably any future hope of immigrating to Canada, as your name will be red flagged.
