It really is just a matter of waiting. CIC will take as long as they need for each application. It's really your choice. If you aren't accepted you won't get the job anyway. I'd suggest you just tell them you think it'll go through but you obviously have to wait for the application to be processed and hope for the best.

Have you applied for a bowp? Can they not apply for an lmo for you?

I didn't think employers could request pr status for any position.

My work permit is till sep 2014. In Alberta some big oil companies do that and mention
It as security reason

Gladki,

If you have time and energy you may try this, but im not sure if it will work.

First try visiting your MP's office in person. Emails take them usually a week to 20 days to respond back. Hence in person visit might work faster.

Second email to minister@cic.gc.ca in parallel. Your subject line should be strong and not long! (ok before you start bashing me that it takes 30 days for minister's office to respond back, yes it does in most cases. But they are reading your emails and actions have been taken in 3-5 days.)

In both cases, first tell them what this job means for your career. How long you have been in Canada and how it can impact your future here. And what will it mean if you loose this specific opportunity. It should be worded succinctly (bullet points can help).

You basically need a confirmation from CIC which will help your employer to reach to a decision, right?

Attach employer's email asking confirmed date of COPR. Ofcourse, CIC will never ever...ever...give that date. Still, you will add a very brief line in your email asking to give a tentative date for COPR. Let CIC say 'no we dont give that'.

In the body of your email to CIC - ask CIC to at least confirm if they can, regarding the basic review on your application. So you need to know if the updated letters you sent, has succeeded in changing their negative initial review to positive review.

If they say the review is now in your favor, but other process needs to be done. Fine. That's all you need. You can attach that response to your firm and add that your application is near completion and the remaining stages will be done within next 65 days.

You have more chances of hearing this from an MP's visit. Cuz i've heard they usually call CIC and get the status over phone.

Let's first start with this and see how CIC responds back.

Hi braveman and all:

1) on which website we can find the tracker to see when our passports are visa stamped and sent back to applicant with copr?

2) being in toronto, any specific border security office we should go to complete landing formalities? I heard Lewiston and fort Erie are good as there will not be any delay and process will be completed in 30 min.

Please guide me.

Hi CEC,

I guess there has been some misunderstanding here. There is no such website where you can actually see when CIC stamps your passport. But yes, you can see when CIC has returned your documents through Canadapost, ie. if you sent your documents through Canadapost to CIC and included a return envelope.

You will simply go to Canadapost.ca and input the tracking no. given to you when you mailed your envelope.

I went to Fort Erie on a saturday early morning - 8am. Was done within 15min.
