I have just received a letter of rejection for my FSW application under NOC 2243 and wondered if you are able to assist with any information about how I appeal against the decision?

Clearly a frustration of this whole process is the lack of being able to physically speak to someone and every time I send an email, I have a wait of 20 days to get a response.

I have been employed within the British Army for the past 25 years and my main duties pretty much mirror the NOC lead statement however my application has been refused on the grounds that the employment letters provided by the British Army do not provide sufficient evidence of this, even though I supplied 22 years worth of annual reports.

I have 10 months left in the British Army and have been battling against the changes made to this immigration process for the past two years and would like to know whether it will be worth my while continuing.

Any advice and direction will be gratefully received.

Did your employment letter list your duties in detail (without copying the NOC information verbatim)?

It gave roles and responsibilities over the past 25 years but yes, I suppose it could possibly be deemed as being without specific detail.

Do you think this could be the cause of the rejection? The fact that the information was supplied but not clearly written in black and white?

Having a properly written employment letter is pretty much table-stakes for having your application accepted. So yes - this could have certainly caused the rejection.

When you say that the letter listed roles and responsibilities - for each role, was there one or two sentences describing responsibilities or 10 to 15 bullet points of responsibilities?

After a short description of my forces career, the employers letter of reference listed, (in table form) my 10 military assignments, detailing briefly my roles & responsibilities at each one.
I basically cribbed it from two work colleagues who have also recently (and successfully) completed their FSW application. (obviously I used my career info not theirs ;D )
