I'm interested in knowing all the ways applicants with exclusion orders have addressed this matter within the application to reduce scrutiny?

It is said that applications from applicants with exclusion orders for overstaying or working may face more scrutiny in proving the genuine nature of their relationship with their spousal sponsor. In what ways have you successfully addressed this scrutiny so that they dont turn a blind eye to the documentary evidence provided within your application?

You might have more luck searching for threads relating to "authorization to return to Canada (ARC)" - this document is required for those that were deported from Canada before they can be approved for PR. It's not the same as an exclusion order (i.e. it's more serious) but it would be a similar premise. If a deportee is successful in their PR, their tips, knowledge may be helpful to you.

My opinion is, each application is unique. The officer looks at the entire picture, not just bits and pieces. A couple may have some red flags on the surface but their relationship as a whole is rock solid. I would say do your best to address any "potential" red flags. This way, you put forth your reasoning and hopefully answer questions they may have had and in turn avoid an interview.

1. You need more evidence that your relationship is genuine than the average applicant would need. Basically the same types of evidence, just more.
2. Try to show that your relationship was serious before any problems with immigration, if possible. For example, if someone finds out his refugee claim has been denied, and then finds a girlfriend and they get married very quickly, the visa officer will be suspicious. If the same person has been in a relationship for a long time, and then finds out his refugee claim has been denied, it seems less suspicious.

Yes thats a good point. Our courtship was from march 2012, and our engagement was Nov 2013...and he was picked up by CBSA in Jan 2014 and excluded in Feb 2014....and I flew to marry him in July 2014. I have letters from my mom, sister and my dad awknowleging the engagement in November before any problems started.

I also checked out some threads and there is a lot of suspicious stuff that happens, lies and inconsistencies in their stories. So from that I've learnt that I am going to create a timeline to show my story so that one will see its filled with consistency and no lies.

Seems like you were able to find some helpful tips. Remember with spousal sponsorship, it is the foreign national that needs to proof his/her relationship with the Canadian sponsor is genuine and not into for the purpose of acquiring a status. So be sure to include reciprocal evidence i.e. things he also does for you.

Thank you for this point I will be sure to highlight all reciprocal evidence on my time line.
