Living in Canada over a year planning on returning to my home country, and do a outland sponsorship application is it wise to do a rcmp clearance check now? before I leave are wait to see if there are going to request it.

Are you the sponsor or applicant and if your the sponsor, are you PR or Canadian citizen?

You do not need to apply for an RCMP check for a PR application, believe that is followed through directly by IRCC if required or if not IRCC will request it.

By applicant assume you mean you are the spouse being sponsored given the sponsor if only a PR would need to be in Canada for a spouse sponsorship.
