My wife completed her landing procedure in Vancouver on 23 Jul 2019 and subsequently stayed in Canada for 18 days before returning to Hong Kong to tie-up some lose ends. We plan to return to Canada around end of February 2020.
We presented a “list of goods to follow” to the CBSA officer. However, the list was not accepted because there was not enough details in the list. For example, there were no receipts to prove many high value items were purchased/gifted more than half year ago, their prices and other details such as a serial number a camera.
The officer also told us that when we return to Canada, we will have to produce this again and the absolute worst case is to pay full taxes on all of the items – but it likely won’t come to that.
Did anyone experience this? Any suggestions or advice?
