Hi all, I'd appreciate it very much if you have any thoughts regarding my situation.

I sent my application to Buffalo last year in March and am currently at the stage of getting my medical exams. Since I am quite close to reaching the final decision on my application, I am starting to worry about interview location, in case I am requested to do so.

I applied to the Buffalo office because I was in the US on a 1-year visa as a visiting scholar but had since went back to my home country last August when my visa was due to expire. Now that I am not in the US, I am wondering if it would be remotely possible for me to request to have the interview in my country? I am worried about not able to get a visitor visa to the US.

I have read cases that were similar to mine at this forum but they were posted more than two years ago and so I am not sure if the information there was outdated.

Please advise...

No change in interview venue. If an interview is required, it will be in the US, and if you don't appear, then a decision is made on the information on file. In most cases results in a refusal.
