Hi everyone,

I had come to Canada on study permit to pursue MBA and after landing here I applied for express entry FSW class based on my Indian work experience of 7 years. I got my ITA in end of February 2017 and had submitted my application on May 21st, 2017. Its going to be 8 months now but still I gave got no mail regarding the final decision. I have submitted the web form couple of times and on both occasions I got the standard reply that they have verified my information and everything is in order with my application and I will be informed as soon as a decision is reached. My spouse and child are in India and waiting for the final PR confirmation mail. I now want to bring them to Canada as I am unsure how long my PR application decision is going to take...so kindly suggest what should I do? -bring them on open work permit/ tourist visa/ keep waiting for PR mail??

You spouse can apply for either open work permit or visor visa from India. Since your spouse would be a dual intent applicant, i.e apply for both PR and a temporary permit at the same time, the application would need to be properly prepared.
It I were you, I'd order GCMS notes first and see exactly what's going on with the EE application before deciding on what spouse should do

I have already applied for GCMS notes on 15th January but I guess it takes more than a month to receive the GCMS notes...so was wandering what can I do in the mean time!

I have recieved the GCMS notes for my PR application which tells that Cli"ent have not met the minimum CRS score-adjustment made to education points and skill transferability"...it also mentions the next CRS score recalculation date as 30th March 2019. In the mean time I want to bring my family (wife and 2 year old son) to Canada to stay with me. My course will end on 30th April 2019 and I plan to apply for 3 year post graduation work permit by end of May 2019. Which option is better for me now to bring my family--should my spouse apply for open work permit or go for tourist visa and then apply for work permit after arriving in Canada in May?? Please guide me
