Address history

Hi Everyone,

This might seem like a dumb question but I have a concern regarding my address history section. My permanent address is in Lahore, Pakistan. However, I was in US for my studies for 2 years.

So I lived in Virginia, US from 08/01/2018 to 07/26/2019. I went to Chicago on 07/26/2019 to see my family before I leave the US. Although I left the US on 08/01/2019 from Chicago , I reached Pakistan on 08/03/2020 because of the time difference and travel time.

My Police Certificate report from Pakistan mention my period of stay in Pakistan as:
01/02/2015 to 14/08/2017 (Left for US on August 14, 2017)
03/08/2020 to To Date

I understand that I will have a gap of a day (08/02/2019 is not covered) between my police reports of two countries and the addresses, therefore, I will provide a brief explanation in the LOE that this is due to travel and time difference. Should I attach my air tickets or the entry stamp on passport will be sufficient?

My second concern is which address and dates should I mention under my travel history:

First option is to mention the period of Virginia address as 08/01/2018 to 08/31/2019 (The last day when my lease ended). However, will this count as misrepresentation as I left VA on 07/26/2020 for good, so it was no longer my residential address after that. I was not going to return to VA, so I cant consider it as vacation/travel period.

The second option is to mention the period of Virginia address as 08/01/2018 to 07/26/2019. However, there will be a gap pf 7 days in my address history as period of my Pakistan Address will start from 08/03/2019. Should I add my cousin's address, where I was staying for 5 days in Chicago in the address history? Technically, I wasn't living there, as I just went to visit them, OR should I leave the gap of 7 days and add an explanation in the LOE and attach my sir tickets as proof?

I would really appreciate if someone could respond to this.

You cannot alter the space time continuum. Sometimes, we actually don't have an address. That is your reality. That is what the forms should reflect. There is no requirement that there be no gaps in your address history, as opposed to your personal history, for example.
