Hi There, i am a PR and got married in india nov 2013.m bak in canada and preparing to send application for spousal sponsership for my husband.he is in india.my husband and i have no dependants .do we need to fill and attach the additinal dependants form at all.also i currently am looking for job coz i quit the last one before leaving.do i really need to have a job to sponser him at the time of application. Please help !!!!!!

if you don't have any dependants you can either not include the form, and make sure to write n/a on the checklist for that form, or include the form and writing n/a on the form. do not forget to include the "additional family information" form... i mistakenly thought that had to do with dependants, and was completely wrong. now my application is delayed because they requested the form!

No you do not have to have a job to sponsor your husband. You can not be collecting welfare and you can't go bankrupt . You can collect E.I. They may ask you how you intend to support yourself and your spouse without any income , so be prepared to show savings account or any assets that you may have.
