Hi,

I got ITA (CEC category) in Aug-2020 and asked to complete my application before Nov-2020. I'm planning to get married in Oct-2020, my fiancee is Indian.

I see I have two options,
  1. Decline my invite and re-enter the pool after my marriage.
    • However, adding her as my spouse wouldn't bring my points below the minimum cut-off.
    • Is there a way to recalculate the score and retain the ITA? Will I get additional days to gather the documents required for my fiancee?
  2. Submit my application and add my fiancee in future to the application as my spouse (should be around November-2020

Which will be the faster way to get the application processed?

You need to add her to your profile once you are married or pass one year of continuous cohabitation (common-law status). If you get married and add her after submitting your application, there is no points recalculation. However, they will want to be sure you did not get married beforehand as that would constitute misrepresentation. Either way, your processing will take a bit longer.
