Hi, I applied for express entry(federal skilled workers) in March'21 and had completed 3 years of work experience at the time of application. I have recently started working at a new place, do I need to edit my application to incorporate this new job position and if yes, would I require an experience letter from this place if I get an ITA within the first few months of working in this company. Considering this job's NOC is different from the ones I had used while applying. Thanks in advance!

If you are planning to claim points for the new job then yes. If not, just update the personal history.
I believe there will be no point addition for 3 to 4 years experience.
The band is 2-3 and 4-5.

Thank you for the reply. No I don't plan on claiming the points from this job. Should I update it in my application and then mention it in the personal history when I receive the ITA or not edit my application at all?
Is it okay to not provide reference/experience letter for a current job and put it in the personal history category?

The reference is required only for jobs that you claim points. It's not required for the ones that are not claimed.
Your personal history should indicate all activities done in last 10 years or 18 years and above including your current work experience.

Oh alright, so I'll just update my express entry application with my new job but won't provide the reference letter for the same when I receive ITA. Is it possible that the IRCC officers still ask for this letter even if this doesn't affect my points?
Apologies for such silly questions, I just don't want to miss out on any information. thank you!

I don't think this will be the case. Documents are asked to prove your eligibility on claiming those points apart from background verifications.

Oh Okay, thank you for your help. Just a last thing, it's best for me to update my current application with this new addition, right? to avoid any misrepresentation of facts.

Add it in personal history not in work experience.

Okay, I have already put a job as my current job at the place I was working before this new job, so should I just put the end date on that and not put anything as my current job?

It cannot be current if it's already finished.

Yes I finished my previous job on 10th July'2021 and started my new job on 15th July'2021 (last week), so was wondering if I should update this or not. or not put anything as my current job and just enter the new job details in personal history after ITA.

Have the job that you wish to claim points for in the work section. Considering this is over, update the end date.
Add that you are working currently in the personal history with the start date.

Hi Sakshi,

I have same doubt. what did you do then? did you add your current job?

if you're not claiming points, no.
