"Add letter of explanation" no longer appearing on checklist - why?

Hi, there was a section appearing on my application checklist to upload a "letter of explanation". This is no longer appearing for me, does anyone know why? Does anyone else have this option on their checklist, or previously had it and don't anymore? Every time you log in to CIC something changes. Awful, awful software

I still had it this afternoon. But, strangely, it had changed from (optional) to (required)! I agree -- frighteningly buggy software! And it's playing with our futures!

That happened to me too Conor. Sometimes it showed the letter of explanation option, sometimes it didn't.

The application system is a little buggy from my experience.

You could try saving and logging out then logging back in after a few minutes to see if there's a difference.

Thanks for your replies. It was always "optional" for me, and I was planning to use it to clear up a few details but I don't really need it. I'm just disturbed by the fact that my checklist keeps changing randomly, like you guys. It is very worrying. I had assumed once you paid your $1000, an actual human would review your submitted application thoroughly and go back to you if they had any questions, but judging by some of the messages on here lately, the bugs in the initial stage can cause automatic rejection of applications even after you've submitted them. Terrifying
