Guys
CEC candidate went for medicals, turns out he has lung cancer.

will he get PR?
Very tough to tell. Cancer tends to be very expensive to treat. He/she will need to show that the cost of care is less than the excessive demand amount. On a positive note is that it was likely discovered because of the application.

Thank you so much for your replies...somehow helps me to feel a bit relieved

I guess below would be the best scenario I can hope for. TB came out as a big big surprise for me because I don;t have any symptoms.

I will be happy already if they hold my application and wait for my treatment to complete

"The procedural fairness letter will be issued because OP is inadmissible based on their medical condition. OP can then respond showing that they are undergoing treatment and the app will be held until treatment is completed and OP is no longer inadmissible."
Hey what’s your status now? I have inland canada pr application and situation is same as you. No symptoms but active tb

I have active tb too. I have AOR and submitted my CEC application on 15th of May 2021. Currently following treatment for active tb, they just reduced my total daily pills from 11 to 7! Treatment is expected to go for around 6 months total.
I had no symptoms too except barely noticeable chest pains rarely.

Hi all,

I'm currently on a work permit and have already submitted my inland application under CEC.

So during the medical exam, they found out I have active TB and will need to undergo treatment.

So what will happen to my application?

Will they deny it outright? Or put it on hold while I undergo treatment?

I wonder if they will consider my situation. I'm already in Canada with a closed work permit.
Hi @chonji1226
My spouse is in a similar situation! When she did her SOWP medical, we discovered she had TB but she was granted work permit with no additional test requests. Now i am applying for EE post-ITA i am not sure what to answer for question "Has xxx had any serious disease?" Should i say YES or NO? May i know if you answered it YES or No if you remember?

Thanks

Hi everyone!

On July 03, 2023 I have done my medical and was diagnosed with active TB after that I was referred toPulmonary Specialist and was advised to take medication for 6months.

May 08, 2024 would be the last day of me taking tb medication and will update you on what will happen after that.
