My wife applied for her outland spousal sponsorship, and we have not received a formal AOR. However IRCC has requested a background verification check (after the application was submitted because the requirement for her country was to wait until she receives her UCI), and she went in today to complete her biometrics. She also created an application tracker and it seems like all the documents we submitted are correct. Will we get an AOR or is the BGC effectively the AOR?

Dont worry, the AOR will come. Normally takes 1-3 months after submission. Check your email or physical mailbox. The BGC is not the AOR

The biometrics request at least is basically AOR. Sometimes they send the formal AOR separately, sometimes not.

Is this something we should ask for? we're looking to apply for her TRV and the AOR would be very useful.

I don't think any way to request the AOR would be efficient or quick.

I should think that the biometrics request would be sufficient for the purposes of TRV application, but I don't know for certain.

One thing to double check is the junk email folder of the sponsor. AOR usually comes in the sponsor's email vs biometrics at PA's email.

Nothing in either of our emails, nor in junk folders. Biometrics are marked as complete, background check was sent in, and is shown as in progress.

you can use any other correspondence to show your application number in case AOR is not sent
