Online information is confusing; once my husband (only has visitor status at the moment) gets his PR, can I (a Canadian citizen) move with him outside of the country and still collect the 2 years of physical presence days? The link below makes it seem like I can.

"You travel with a spouse or common-law partner

Your spouse or common-law partner needs to be:

  • a Canadian citizen, or
  • a permanent resident working outside Canada, full-time for:
    • a Canadian business, or
    • the Canadian federal, provincial or territorial government"

You're confusing the residency requirement for PR and citizenship. For citizenship, he needs to physically live in Canada. No - he can't count the days spent outside of Canada with you.

oooh, but we can be outside of canada together if we simply want to maintain his PR status? as long as we get the 2 years in canada under 5 years?
