Hi everyone,

I am a new member and would like to know about how to go about getting an accounting job over there.
I understood from this forum that it is good to have a job before coming there.we have just completed our medicals and expect to finish the other process within 2 to 3 months. We are planning to settled in Toronto.

Thanks

Check job websites like http://www.workopolis.com/ , http://www.monster.ca/ and Canada job bank at http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/ before you decide where to settle. There's no point in picking a nice city if you find out when you get there that the jobs in your field are all over somewhere else.

You can start looking around right now but it's easier to get a job when you are there in person and can do interviews. The job market in Canada is very fast. If they are advertising now, they probably want somebody now. People quit all the time with 2 weeks notice or less and they need to fill their positions. You can lose your job today and have a new one tomorrow. You can put your CV on monster.ca and workopolis.com and see if you get any hits.

there are enough accounting opportunities out there..at in BC. I would suggest to start with a temp.position. That is if you have the choice.
I would suggest to try this site

http://www.eluta.ca/

Instead of Monster and Workopolis (those are just for gathering info about you).

Don't know if this questions is for me but I would say that it depends on a number of factors. Like everywhere it depends on the experience he has (level, kind of industry etc etc). But overall I would say that the outlook is good.
