Can a mother accompany her daughter (on study permit) to Canada as an accompanying family? What kind of visa will the mom get if it is possible?

Thank you,

Thank you,

Yes, family can accompany the student. The mother will need to apply for a TRV.

Sorry, I needed to be a bit more specific here.

The daughter is now 24 years old, and NOT a minor. Is it still possible for the mom to be an accompanying family member?

no its not possible for daughter of age 24 or above.

i disagree.

here, the student (daughter) is 24 yrs old.
the mother wants to accompany the daughter to Canada. This is possible; provided all the conditions are satisfied vis-a-vis funds, ties to home country...etc.

anyone else have any different opinion on this ?

another point regarding minors travelling:

Code:
Children under 18 travelling without one or both parents or without a legal guardian must provide a notarized authorization for travel signed by both parents or by the parent or legal guardian not travelling. This authorization should be available for presentation at the Canadian Port of Entry.

guidelines doesnt differentiate between family members - be it wife or mother. associated conditions must be satisfied. double check with VFS.
