Very confusing. Trying to count days of residency, I read that a spouse or common-law partner travelling outside Canada with a Canadian citizen, can count the days outside Canada as full days of residency in view of Canadian citizenship days of residence. BUT on the Immigration website, it says only members of Armed Forces and the like can count days outside Canada as full days of residency. (Accompanying a Canadian Citizen Spouse Overseas - Questions about Permanent Residency - Discussions Forum). Some help needed here please.

As said above, you are confusing the residency requirements for PR and for citizenship, which are quite different.

The time will count if you are planning on living in Canada for a while and then leaving. To get PR you will also have to prove that you are returning to live in Canada. If you only do a short landing and then return to living in Thailand whether the days count can be a bit more complex.
