So I finally landed in Montreal (June 21st).
After presenting my passport and my immigration papers to the border officer they directed me to a room where my case can be handled.
Since it was a late arrival (landed at 10.30 pm), I was the only person there.
The immigration officer was very nice, and polite. It helped that I had all my documents in order, especially for goods brought in and goods to follow.
The whole immigration process took about 30 minutes.
After getting a good night's sleep I then proceeded to complete the rest of the formalities, opening a bank account, getting a SIN and registering for health insurance.
Since I was staying in downtown Montreal all the offices were close by within walking distance.
Getting a SIN was easy, just go to the Service Canada office, present them with you papers, they will take down some details and print out your SIN. Make sure to get this first.
The next step is to get the health insurance, which requires the SIN. You will need your passport, confirmation of PR, as well as your CSQ. You will be asked to sign a legal document stating that you intend to stay in Quebec.
You can give them a temporary address however make sure to update them once you find a permanent one.
