I was in your shoes and I can testify that their system algorithm calculates your total years of working experience based on hours. So it is likely you will be notified to have 3 years in your application process. But I agree with Canadavisa92 -- how officials determine your work eligibility is a block box. I have been fretting over it all the way!

Thanks buddy. Sounds like to play it safe, I should include RA experience in 2018 too.

well I have a few more months in 2018 as RA/TA too I just did not include them because the new 2018 payroll system in my school did not display working hours. I don’t want to bother with getting more documents to prove this.

from the website I see for part time they allow you to work more or less than 15 hours as long as the total adds up to 1560 to be considered as 1 year experience. Can I somehow ask Cansha or canuck to answer my question?

Yes from where i stand it should be counted as 3 years, but the thing is on the system when you fill the application you say from which month to which month you have been working and based on that it calculates the years so it doesnt calculate the hours at least on the online system. However, when you upload the reference letter, it mentions there the.number of hours so maybe them the IRCC officer recalculates the experience based on what he sees. This is why i am telling you from what i think its a matter of the officers judgment.
Yes tag them.in the question or better yet start a private conversation with them and please do let me know what they say.

Yea the continuos experience thing is very tricky and actually i dont have any idea how exactly is it determined and if gaps are allowed how long should this gap be, so this is why i assume its a case to case basis and depends on how the officer trusts the applicant/application

Have you filled out the application yet?
When you do the system will ask you to input the work experience from month year to month year or from month year to present if its your current job

Not yet. I am waiting for my WES to be delivered.

I tried the system though. Just didn’t submit it so I cannot see how they calculate the score.

what I see is that they asked for months, but also hours per week.

but to play it safe, I’ll include the 2018 RA experience for A total of 72 months.
