Hey Everyone!

My background:
I am an American married to a Canadian citizen, and I am in Canada on an extended visitors permit. I spent 6 months here, and gained a 12 month renewal in March. I am not working or going to school.

My questions:
1) most importantly, I am torn on which addresses I should use. For my visitor extension, I used my address with my wife in BC, and did not give any US address. I do not have a US address anymore because of our state of 'limbo', to be completely honest, unless I give them my parents address where I grew up. Is it ok to apply Outbound, and only use Canadian addresses on my application if I'm legally here as a visitor? In my attached visitor extension request letter in March, I told them I wanted to be here during the PR process, so I have been very honest with them.

2) I got my fingerprints done within Canada by the Commissionaries for the FBI background check, since law enforcement will not do non-criminal fingerprints anymore in BC. Is this going to be a problem? I plan to use an FBI approved Channelers in order to speed up the process. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thank you!

1. it is perfectly acceptable to use your current canadian address. this is the address CIC will be sending your approval papers to.

2. you would need to ask the channeler you plan to use. the FBI only requires ink fingerprints, they aren't concerned about who does them. not sure if it's the same with channelers.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I contacted the Channeler I want to use, and they indeed told me I could have them done anywhere within Canada that does fingerprints. phew! :)

Also, according to a call I (finally) got in through with CIC, as of May 5th, 2016, they will accept FBI background checks for US citizens and permanent residents through a 3rd party Channeler.
