I sent my passport for visa stamping, can any body share me that is it necessary to take Canadian $20,500 with us, or carry Demand draft of the same amount or no need to carry when u r going as an immigrant and will land first time

You should take some cash with you for your immediate requirements after landing in Canada. I suggest take at least CAD 10,000/= in cash and 10,500/= by way of DD. To encash DD, there will be some time required for the banking transactions.

My advice to you is to carry 5000 cash and remaining in TC and not DD. And for 4 members it is necessary to carry 20599 CAD at your first landing.

You can encash TC at any time by showing your passport.
If you get USD it can be changed at the landing airport exchange counters itself.
