When I applied for my father’s visitor visa, the processing time showed “45 days”. It has been 52 days since they received the biometric completion. Now when I check, the processing times shows as “85 days”. Is this calculation showing if applying today? Or does this mean that it also can impact my father’s application and it can now take 85 days to process?

Processing times are an AVERAGE, not when your application should be processed by. If times increase, and application is in the queue expect the longer time.

My limited experience suggests posted processing times mean little. I am not even sure that I would trust them to represent an "average". Average of what? Relating to applications received when?

Someone I know who has applied, submitted the application in March, when the posted processing time was 35 days. It has gone up steadily every week. Now shown as 92 days. The one I am watching has now been in the works for 105 days and no end in sight.

I guess not much I can do. Terrible that the processing times are not reliable. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
