Hey Friends

There are any rule that as a PR I cant live outside Canada more than 2 years ?

What will happen if I live more than 2 years outside Canada?

Please Guide me.

You must live in Canada 2 out of every five rolling years to maintain PR status. If you don't meet this residency requirement then you risk having your PR status revoked.

^ Unless you are living outside Canada with your Canadian spouse...then the 2 year rule doesn't really apply. Citizenship is different; you must be in Canada to qualify...

Thank you

No. You must live three out of the last four to be eligible for citizenship.

To keep your PR status you must live 2 years out of 5 years period in Canada. (of course exception are: living outside Canada with a Canadian Citizen spouse, working for a Canadian Company etc.) So, if you just wish to retain your PR status, then you can live outside for 3 years (although I don't suggest you do).

If you wish to apply for Canadian Citizenship you must live in Canada for 3 years within a 4 years period.
