Dear all,

I am new here, I found this forum when I was searching information for my visa application. It was a great website for me. Lucky me.

We are now preparing all the documents for the PR application, I am a chinese and my husband is canadian. I have a question about the
medical examination, hope I could get some help from here.

Should I go through the medical examination and hand in the result with my other documents for the application of sponsorship or should I wait until the visa office asks me to? I know that most people wait for the notice and then go for the medical checkup, but will it be faster if I hand in all the documents they need?

Could anybody share more information about this medical checkup here? I will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hand it in with the application. DO NOT wait to do it. It will only delay the whole process. If you look at your Country Specific Checklist (I'm assuming you are applying from China) it should show that one of the items to be included with your application is the medical exam Copy 2 form.

Hey, Thanks a lot for your reply.

Here is my case, My husband has been living in China with me for more than 2 years, he is going back to CA on the 4th of Sep. (as we think that it may be better if he goes back and get a job and settle down before we started applying). So should I go to do the medical checkup in sep when we are about to hand in the documents or I can do it soon? How long it takes for me to get the result? or the hospital will just send the result to the visa office (I am in GZ, so I guess it will go to HK Visa office). I know that the medical result is valid for a year.

Thanks again. :-*

If I were you I would do it now and complete the application now while your husband is still around. It's easier to do the application together than when you guys are apart and have to mail things back and forth. The medical exam results will not be given to you. After you do the medical exam the doctor will give you copy 2 of the medical exam (not the results). That form that has your photo and the doctor's signature is what you include with your application. The copy 1 and the results will be sent to Manilla where they will wait until your visa office will ask for them to be sent if your husband is approved for sponsorship. Here's good news about the medical exam: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-exam-validity-extension-for-additional-12-months-new-cic-bulletin-t106229.0.html
So you can do it now.

in my opinion you can prepare all the documents now that you and ur husband is together so if there is some issue then you can do it together and before his flight to canada do your medical exam and dont forget to attach the copy of the proof you did ur meds exam into ur application before you give it to ur husband.

Hey, I am really greatful for your reply. I will do it this month. Yes, we are trying to do everything together, collecting documents, photos, etc. Do you guys know how long it will take for me to get my PR NORMALLY? I heard some people have been waiting for years. :( :o
