For the document like employment reference, does IRCC require original copy (the physical letter) or electronic copy (scan)?

Wow, a little bit surprised.

One follow-up question, my Canada work experience in a university starts from Oct-2017 to Sep-2019. I have an employment verification letter from HR already in April this year (this is for US visa application).

In this letter, it is clearly stated my start date (Oct-2017) and the end date (Sep-2019)

My question is whether I can use this letter for Express Entry as employment proof (I will submit EE profile in Oct-2019) (set aside the NOC duties requirement at the moment because that will be my direct supervisor's job).

The key question is: Is the April letter valid to prove employment until September?

Hi all. I would like to know something about marriage certificate. Should the marriage certificate be attested by ministry of foreign affairs before being uploaded?

It's best to submit a letter that's dated closer to your date of submission. While your letter is not invalid, it can cause the officer to wonder why you're using an older letter. I assume it is easy enough to get another letter in September, just before your term of employment ends?

If it is somehow very difficult to get a new letter, you can submit the old one, along with a couple of pay slips that show that you actually did work till September.

Thanks for your reply. What i am planning to do right now, like you said, is to have a formal letter dated exactly on the last day (i.e. 30th Sep). I will submit my Express Entry in Oct-2020. I expect such letter should suffice.

The reason for why I wanted a letter sooner because I will be leaving Canada this Oct. I think it is much better to have something ready in my hands before I leave.
