AAIP Accelerated Tech Pathway

Hi everyone,

I have a question about the AAIP Accelerated Tech Pathway.

My PGWP expires soon. I have already submitted my Worker EOI with 56 points. I have a full-time Alberta job offer under NOC 22221 (User Support Technician) and the employer NAICS is 5413.

Before my PGWP expires, I am planning to apply for a visitor record and stop working after my work authorization ends. My employer can keep my job offer active.

The AAIP website says Accelerated Tech candidates can either be working full-time in Alberta OR have a bona fide full-time job offer.

Has anyone received an Accelerated Tech invitation or nomination while on visitor status without a valid work permit, based on having a valid Alberta job offer?

You are eligible but your employer must know that it may be a long time before you can work again. Not only do you have to be invited but then you have to apply for nomination, get nomination and then get EE invited. Right now Alberta is processing May applications so expect 4-6 months for Alberta processing. Also there are around 200 spots left for the year and over 2k in the pool. Your NOC and score must be selected, and Alberta doesn't post NOCs.
