Hello,

Happy and sad to say that the husband visited for 3 weeks and just left today. He could of stayed longer but the immigration officer said he had to go back and get a waiver of some sort, I am not sure what she was talking about. My husband had committed a small crime (stealing from a supermarket) when he was a minor, but the case dragged on until he was an adult. He spent a week in the slammer and did community service and this happened over 15 years ago. SO I am not quit sure what she meant by a one year waiver , we also had to pay $200 extra for a temporary Visa. She said on his criminal record check it said warrant , and he needs to go and clear that out?? Anyone knows what she is talking about?

Only he and the courts knows what it's about. If there is a warrant out, there's something from his past that wasn't taken care of OR an error that needs to be fixed ASAP.

i looked at the fbi clearance and it just said work, community service and nothing about warrant, I really think the Immigration officer was on a power trip.

The FBI clearance might not say if there are state charges pending. Canada & USA share information regarding this for immigration purposes.
