So we all know the end of May and early June sponsors are getting approvals at the same time as the first half of April. But I remember OCanadiana saying that the "received" date goes in order at the VO. So I am wondering....even if May and June get approved first, won't the April and early May applications get processed first at the VO?

I was wondering the same thing... from what I've read it's a first come first thing type of thing, it would really be unfair if the VO jumped to those approvals.

I called CIC today and asked about the jump in applications and surprise surprise the agent said that I was wrong and that it wasn't possible, that whoever got approval must've sent it before april pfffftt...

very interesting point but I don't think so that there a way to figure anything with immigration process ....its just impossible to say anything..

Yes but this jump is more drastic. In February it was just two weeks ahead and it made sense that the next group would go to Ottawa and Miss. would continue working on their pile. But from the beginning of April to the end of May?

To clarify, the comments I made referred the file transfer in a case where the file was sent to the incorrect visa office initially for step 2 processing and were based on OP-1:

"For assessment purposes, visa offices receiving a transferred file must respect the original date
on which the application was received as the “lock-in” date. For processing purposes, all
processing steps for the files transferred to an office, including the scheduling of interviews,
should be the same as for all other applications received in the office on the date corresponding to
the “lock-in” date of the received file. This means that an application that is received in Paris in
July 2002 and transferred to New Delhi in March 2003, would enter the New Delhi queue as of
July 2002.
See also Section 5.24 Lock-in date.
There are no fees applicable to file transfer requests."

Oh. So I guess not then. Sorry everyone!
