We sent our application to Mississauga two days ago for 1st stage approval but we realized that my partner made a silly human mistake in the sponsor questionnaire (imm 5540), question 14. Has your sponsor met any of your close friends and family?
My partner gave all the details regarding the dates that I met his friends and some family members but he made one mistake on the dates. He answered that I met his brother on May 2012 instead of May 2013. I wouldn't worry too much but the problem is that I didn't know my partner on May of 2012 and either his brother.
Are they going to understand that was a human mistake? I am afraid that they are going to accuse us of misrepresentation.
Can we send them an e mail after we get AOR and client ID explaining our mistake?

Just send CIC an explanation once you get an AOR and client ID. I would send the info to the visa office that will be reviewing your file and ask for a confirmation of receipt to make sure they get it via either e-mail or case specific enquiry.

And, try not to worry about it in the meantime. As errors go, this seems to be minor and fixable by letting them know before they take a decision on your application.

thank you so much for your suggestion! Despite the fact that we looked our app. million times we didn't notice it. when they tranfer our file to Rome we are going to inform them about the mistake and hope that everything will be solved.
Can I send the info me or it has to be done from my partner? because the mistake was in his application

You shouldn't worry much - the CIC officers can understand mistypes but I would just send them a letter with the explanation and correction.
