cHi Everyone,
I and my wife got married this May 2021. I am currently a Canadian PR. However, I had also applied for my citizenship last year and now I have received a call for taking the Canadian Citizenship test. I want to sponsor my wife to Canada. I have been in India since April 2021. I am hoping I will be able to return on August 3, 2021 after a number of delays to flights.

What is the best way to sponsor my wife to Canada?
Should I apply as PR or Citizen?
If I take my Canadian Citizenship, should I stay in Canada?
Should I apply for a tourist visa before a PR application?
My wife intends to study in Canada once she lands here. Should I apply for a student visa before other things?

As a PR, you can only sponsor your wife while your living in canada.

Once you get your Canadian citizenship, you don’t have to be living in Canada to sponsor your wife.

And if the citizenship test is online, you have to do it in Canada.

And if the citizenship test is online, you have to do it in Canada.

That no longer appears to be the case. Seems IRCC is changing their processes to allow applicants to take the test from outside of Canada.

However to take the oath, you still need to be in physically in Canada.
