A question regarding an FBI police check for IEC visa.

Hi all,

I have began the process in submitting all my documents after being invited to apply for an IEC Visa.
I'm a UK citizen from Scotland and the UK ACRO police check has come back fine.

However the CIC website states that you should submit a police check from countries you have lived for more than 6 months from the age of 18.
I lived in the States for a year meaning I have sent fingerprints and a police check application to the FBI (which is a nightmare and has cost me around £150)

The FBI website states that the processing time for this police check will be 12-14 weeks not including postage time. I'm guessing the sheer timescale may be an issue?
Does anyone know if the CIC will wait for this arrive?
Would the CIC approve my Visa with just my clean UK ACRO police certificate and receipt of my FBI one?

All you need to do when attaching your documents is attach a letter of explanation to explain your application is minus the FBI check which you will add later. Include with the letter the date submitted and any proof you have about submitting (confirmation email etc)You can attach the letter of explanation I believe with the UK check in a single PDF and believe there is also space for comments to be added. With CIC more info the better to back anything up and they will be aware of the FBI processing times anyway. Your place will still held just you probably wont get the POE letter until the FBI check is attached.

Hi Andrew,

I'm in the same situation as you, have you heard back from the FBI at all? Also, how did you pay for the certificate? I am thinking of sending the credit card form, but worried it might not get accepted if it's a UK card? Stressin'!
