I have a friend back in Poland, who asked me to ask you guys about the possibility, realistic chances, and any experiences about sponsoring someone who is neither your spouse nor parent, but is your brother/sister or cousin (in her case, cousin specifically). I know CIC has a section to sponsor other relatives: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives.asp but I was wondering, does anyone of you know what the requirements are, whether it's possible to sponsor a cousin, and what is required of an application like that? do they have to show they are close? and also, is there any chance such applications actually succeed? Just curious.

Cousins can't be sponsored. They aren't on the list of qualifying relatives. So zero chances of the application succeeding.
