There is a fine line we need to maintain for the sake of our own peace and prosperity, more so for the sake of our kids. It is great to aspire for a democratic, multi-cultural, diverse and free country. On the other, we shouldn't hope to change the fabric of the nation so much that it stops being what it is and starts becoming more of what we ran away from. Some of us naturally desire to see familiar environment which we came from and feel comfortable in. The danger is in trying to do too much of it whereby one starts building ghettos and silos and slowly destroying the garden of Eden. While I agree Conservatives are not addressing issues in reasonable and sensible manner, the rules and acts are a reflection of a fear that is gradually growing in the minds of populace that we are becoming vulnerable to the dark forces from outside. Is the paranoia justified? No. But reflecting on the issue of balanced integration process can help Canada to be a stronger immigration nation.
