Hello,

I finally got another awesome job in Canada!

The company hired an immigration office to deal with my case.

I talked today with them and I explained that I'm eligible for a PR via Express Entry, that I don't have enough points now (256) and that soon as I got the LMIA / Work Permit, then, I'll have enough points to finally receive my ITA.

However, they told me that this will not going to happen! They said that a new LMIA / Work Permit will give me only about 50 extra points and even with (18 months of CEC - NOC 2171), I'll never receive an ITA via EE.

They also said that my only option to receive my PR, is via the so called "Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)".

So, here is my question:

Is this accurate?!

I hired CanadaVisa.com to manage my EE profile, hoping that I would receive my PR after getting a new job and, so far, all the information that I have, from both CanadaVisa.com and from wwimmigration.ca is that soon as I have the LMIA/WP, I'll then, have enough points to receive the ITA.

But the new immigration office told me that this isn't true anymore.

Who is right here?

Thanks!
Thiago

In my opinion. If " I don't have enough points now (256) " this part is true. Then the rest is true. In the past, LMIA can guarantee EE ITA coz it adds 600 points to your profile. Due to a recent change, it only grants 50 points now.

Could you share your education, age, marital status, english test scores (and also the same info of your spouse if married) here for us to determine whether the part I quoted is true.

why is your score so low? a new born baby has 256.

Maybe that's because all I know about Linux and computers, I learned by myself over the last 20 years. I do not have any diploma, nor high-school.

Maybe I'm a new born, as you said?! :-/

No worries, my EE Profile is already being managed by CanadaVisa.com, all of this is already there, within their portal.

I was just curious about how much points I would be receiving with a new LMIA/WP (NOC 2171)...

Your lack of formal education very significantly reduces your points. It also sounds like you are in your late 30s? So that would reduce points as well. Job offer only gets you 50 points. You don't have anywhere near enough points to be selected under FSW/EE unfortunately.

The answer is 50 points.

Incorrect on first part, 50 points are for job offers. PNP nominations get 600 points.
