Hello, I am applying for the spousal sponsorship visa (Uk -> Canada) and I have a few questions, hopefully somebody can help;

1) We have been waiting around 13 months at this point; is this normal? I have been told of the average but I'm just wondering if every case is different?
2) Will they contact us through mail or how do you they tell you that you have been approved?
3) Is there anything we can do? I know it's a waiting game but it has becoming increasingly hard to live in limbo like this.
4) Did you use a lawyer or did you do it all yourself?
5) Are there any contacts I can speak with or am I alone in this? I've spoken with immigration consultants before but they weren't terribly helpful.
6) Do you they contact you if anything is wrong with the process?
7) Is it a good sign that they haven't contacted us yet and our application is currently 'in queue'?

Thank you.

You mean you have applied - Inland or outland?

Every case is different. Where are you in the process at present?

Can be email and mail, you can track your app' online

3) Is there anything we can do? I know it's a waiting game but it has becoming increasingly hard to live in limbo like this.

You can call the helpline, or order your CAIPS/FOSS notes, or check online.

4) Did you use a lawyer or did you do it all yourself?
Many people are DIY

5) Are there any contacts I can speak with or am I alone in this? I've spoken with immigration consultants before but they weren't terribly helpful.
To discuss what specific questions?

6) Do you they contact you if anything is wrong with the process?
They can.
7) Is it a good sign that they haven't contacted us yet and our application is currently 'in queue'?

Have you received anything?
Did the application arrive at CIC, where did you send it?

Thank you.
