My wife (citizen) hasn't lived in Canada since 2005 and will be my (USA husband) sponsor. We currently reside in California. Her family still resides in Canada.

1. Will her Option C Printout be valid for the CIC? (Sponsor Document Checklist Question #17)
2. Will we meet the minimum income requirement if we do not work in Canada? (Sponsor Document Checklist Question #18)
3. How do we go about proving we are moving back to Canada via documents? (Sponsor Document Checklist Question #20)

These three things are all we have left before we send in our application packet.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome,

1. If the most recent Option C your wife has is from 2005, it's pointless to include. What she should provide instead of the Option C is her latest assessment from the US, assuming she is working there + an explanation as to why she isn't providing the Option C.

2. No minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorship

3. Letters from family stating you can stay with them until you sort out your housing, an employment offer or proof you've been searching for jobs, letter of acceptance from a university or similar, lease agreement, purchase of real estate, eyc..I'd also recommend writing a detailed plan on what you will do to cut ties with the US and what you plan to do in Canada to re-establish yourselves.

Hope that helps
