A few questions about Express Entry

Hi all - I'm starting express entry in about a month and have a few questions...

Do I need to have GCSE/A-Level education assessed?

The only other qualifications I have are Microsoft Ones.

I am currently working for a Firm in Canada as a user Support Technician NOC 2282 And have been in multiple companies for at lease 18 months now - one company for 9.

I also worked in the UK as the same job type for 10 years before coming here.

Taking my Language proficiency exams on the 7th...

I'm 30 - am living with my Girlfriend who is Canadian (1 year living together) and not sure whether to include myself as Common Law.

I'm on the IEC visa at the moment and its running out in May.

Obviously I want to get status ASAP and would like to know if i should try applying for an extension or a temporary visa to see me over.

How are my chances?

You don't have any qualifications as a level counts as secondary so your scores will be low.

Providing you get high language results and your work history is in skilled work, you may qualify for +400 points, but it is unlikely without an education. Your Microsoft ones won't get you anything either.

If your partner is Canadian I would seriously suggest popping the question and getting her to sponsor you. In the meantime ask your employer to put in for an lmia now.

Does 1 year living with partner not class as common law:

For my IRCC spousal sponsorship application, what is a common-law partner?
Your common-law partner:

Is not legally married to you,
Is of the opposite sex or the same sex as you,
Is 18 years old or older, and
Has been living with you for at least 12 consecutive months. That means you have been living together continuously for one year, without any long periods apart. One of you may have left the home for work or business travel, family obligations, and so on. That separation must have been temporary and short.

If so i will put her on my application rather than do it through sponsorship...

Sure, however she won't get you any extra points in your ee profile.

She is Canadian, you are not.

If you want to get pr on your own steam you can choose to add her to your ee application but it won't be any advantage. Due to your lack of education you are unlikely to get pr unless your employer give you an lmia.
