Hello all
If someone is in Canada on visit visa and got a job offer+LMIA
1-Can her son join school during the process of work permit approval ?
2-Can she leave Canada during the WP approval process or that might affect processing time and or the approval itself ?
Thanks a lot in advance !

1. So son is in Canada? Person needs a work permit first. Can try to register the son and if school boards ask for study permit, then apply for a study permit.
2. Yes. Needs TRV to re-enter.

Oh sorry
I was not very clear
Her son is 8 years old and on a visit visa too
She wants him to catch school until her work permit get approved
Would that work ?

She needs an approved work permit for child to be eligible to go to school. If she is still on a visitor visa, then son is not eligible. School board may require study permit.

As said above, he would need a study permit to attend school and also pay international student fees since his mother only has visitor status. She should wait until the work permit is approved before bringing him to Canada to study (unless she's willing to pay $15K in tuition). He is not entitled to attend school for free before her work permit is approved.

Hello again
An immigration consultant told us it might be either LMIA or there is another way when she can get an endorsement related to the job offer but no LMIA needed ?
Is there another way to have a work permit with a job offer but not LMIA (not LMIA exempted job)?
Thanka

She needs a LMIA to apply for a work permit. Or immigrate through Canada’s immigration programs like Express Entry or Provincial Nomination. What province is she considering?
