I am trying to get started with this whole immigration thing. My husband is Italian and we are planning to move to Canada in Jan. (2 months) Once we arrive I want to get the immigration papers in ASAP so Im starting the process here but I find I have tons of silly little questions.
Without boring you all right off the bat I wanted to know what is the best way to find out if my questions have already been answered somewhere on this site, without having to view every post cause there must be thousands!!

One thing I want to ask right away is if we can translate our own documents (ie marriage certificate) and where is the best place to go to get an affidavit? Im trying to keep costs down as much as possible.

Thanks all
Sabs.

A really great start is the very first post by Leon in this thread:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-t46995.0.html

After that, you can use the search feature to see if your questions have already been answered elsewhere on this forum.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Official documents have to be translated by a certified translator, but supporting evidence (phone records, cards, bank statements etc) can be translated by you. You can also contact the Visa Office directly to ask if a specific document needs to be translated.
