55 days of landing ......not got PR card till now..............worried

can anyone help my frnd _ he landed on july 07 2010 and came back to UAE. he has given the address of one of our frnd in Winnipeg ( he is also NEw there). Can he receive his PR Card ??? and hw this is send from Govn.??

I landed in Vancouver last week. The visa officer did not ask me to complete any PR card application. He just asked me my mailing address and he said that the cards will be sent to the address after 6 weeks? Is it the same procedure for you guys? Did anyone has to complete any form for PR cards? I have landed on last week of July but no PR card yet. I have to leave Canada for two weeks in the middle of October. I called CIC in the second week of September. The guy said he will sent a message to CIC and I should get my PR card in a month. I am just worried. In worst case, I probably have to apply for Travel Document. What kind of documents I need for Travel document? How many days does it take to get the PR card now?

I just landed last week of July too. I still haven't received my PR card. Have you called CIC to get your PR status?

Thank God someone replied me regarding my issue
I have called them many times
1- I called them after 4 weeks of landing and they told me that wait till six weeks
2- Then i called 2nd times after six weeks, then told me that i should call on 14th sep
3- I called on 14th sep they told to wait for one more week
4- I called them after one week, they replied to call after one month

Now this is current situation

I want to apply for driving license but without PR card i can nt apply
So Now a days i m using public transport to reach office
But public transport is very very bad here bcoz here mostly Desi people r living

there is always rush in buses and trains same like in our countries and normally have to stand during whole journey

So it seems me that i am still living in my home country

But i have good job here tht's the difference

I did not even get my Care Card as this is another long story

I sent my application for care cards on 28th july but i did not recieve it yet

I called them to enquire about care cards, they told me that they did not recieve my application

So they suggested me to send application again

I sent it again and asked them again but they told me still they dont have any record

Then 3rd time they suggested me to send by fax and i did same

I have fax reciept with me, then i again called them to enquire but still they told me that still it is not in system

Now i called them yesterday and request them that i want to deliver it by in person
They said No, i can not do like this

So now frustated bcoz i have my one year old son and my wife is expecting delivery in november

So in short so many problems here in British Columbia

very tense situation
Hospitals r not good and they r charging too much
What about u ?
Have u got job ?
how about ur medical cards? have u got it ?

sorry for the late reply, well i landed on 26th july and left in august due to my medical condition ..we have pic problem with my and husband PRC but my 2 year daughters PRC was delivered first week of september. we lan moving next year when my husband gets a good job. he is a CA.
but he has passed his written test for DL and that was delivered end aug.

well i dont know when we can settle permanently but as i mentioned it depends when my husbnd gets a suitable job. we never applied for care cards.

Hi Ather8888,

In Ontario, you can apply for driving license and health card without getting the PR card. I came to Canada as a student and later I was a foreign worker. I applied for skilled worker and I got my immigrant visa last July. So I really didn't have problem of finding jobs. I have applied in person for my medical card and the person told me that I should receive the card before at the end of October. It takes 3 months in Ontario to be eligible for health card. I feel sorry that you cannot apply for driving license without PR card in BC.

For PR card, I am in same situation. They told me to wait for a month. I don't know what to do rather than waiting for PR card.
