5 years multiple entry visa - how long can stay inside Canada

is there anyone here know how long can someone stay in Canada on each visit? I read some one says 6 months and request for extension,. How can it be extended when you have a 5 yrs multiple entry? anyone?

If you have a TRV single, multiple or whatever doesn't matter.

On entry you will be assessed and given up to 6 months, after that you can extend for as many times as you wish. The problem arises of whether the extension would be granted or not. You need a valid reason to be "living" in Canada under a "visitor" status. Each extension will be more difficult and eventually it will be denied.
