Hello community,

I have read some of these posts already, and I suspect the answer is "just wait" but I am going to ask anyway.

I (CAN citizen living in the US) sponsored my wife and children (US citizens) for immigration. Our application was delivered to the mississauga office on July 3, 2018 and we want to move to Canada in July 2019. We have already gotten jobs (just across the border in the US, we will be commuting) and we want to buy a house in Canada in the next 1 to 2 months. However, we still have not received an AOR, nearly 4 months later!

I used the online form twice, and the first time they said they had it, it's in the queue and will be processed in order. The second time they said that the info I submitted in the form did not match their records!?

Tried the call center by having my parents in Canada dial in and put me on a 3-way, but we can't get through to an agent. They just say "try later"

So what do we do in such a situation? Should I have/ could I have submitted online? Is it lost? Is 4 months normal? I see people usually get AOR in about 2 months...

Thanks so much!

Hi, thanks for responding. Now I am feeling even more freaked out, as this will throw a huge wrench in our plans. There is nothing in our email or spam folders, and we can't do the ECAS procedure you linked to because we DONT HAVE a receipt. We got no AOR. The only thing we have is confirmation from the US postal service that it arrived in Mississauga.

We keep trying to call the phone number through my parents in Canada, and now there is a new message which says that they have temporarily disabled the call service.

What should we do? Reapply? Do we have to pay again?

I am sure it is not lost. Continue trying to call if no clue by them then>>Sponsor has some rights. See your MP with full details. They have to answer an M.P.
