4 months and nothing !

Hey,

Its been like forever of waiting on our outland spousal sponsorship approval, our application was received in 27 March and they started processing it on 25 May and no updates !! Many calls and emails and always the same reply In process !!

Is there anyone in the same case ?

The parent poster could be talking about the sponsorship approval part of the process rather than the PR application itself. If this is indeed the case and the file has not yet been transferred to the visa office, it would be well past the ordinary processing time. In that case, the CIC call centre in Mississauga has a limited ability to give more information.

From an earlier comment, this poster suggested that the sponsorship file was under additional unspecified review. If that is indeed the case then there is no guideline for processing times, since the posted times apply only to ordinary applications that do not need unusual processing.

The only problem I think my wife never left Morocco because of her midicine studies , but they told her it was not a problem and she was able to keep her residence and they renewed her card !

But 4 month its not normal at all

Hang in there, there are people who've had much worse things happen to their applications.

So how long was your wife in Morocco? Has she kept up with her Permanent Resident residency obligations in Canada? If so you likely have nothing to worry about.

When has she been in Canada? In order to sponsor someone, a PR has to be in Canada. They can't sponsor from abroad.

2 years she wasnt able to go to Canada and stay there bacause of her doctoral midicine studies ! in fact she had only 90 days passed in Canda in 4 years , she was going to lose her PR, but after explaining that to the officer she got her PR renewed !

There is where your problem might be ... Permanent residents residing abroad may not sponsor from outside of Canada

When will your wife finish her studies and return to Canada?

Sorry, I misunderstood you when you said she never left Morocco because of her studies.

So she's done her studies now and she's in Canada? How did she become PR? through her parents?

Why don't you just apply for a visitor visa to go see her?

Also, 4 months is way too early to start inquiring about the status of your application, many people wait at least 6 months to 3 years for their spouses to come here, so please be patient.
