Let me try answering your question while waiting for Aspire's response. As far as I know, CRNEs can only be taken in Canada.

yes, upp942 is right, the CRNE is given only in Canada, three times a year... very much like our NLE here in the Philippines... if you want to apply, you need to have your papers assessed by the province you want to practice in... in your case, the College of Nurses of Ontario... the assessment fee for Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) is 678$CAN if i'm not mistaken... they just increased this last june 2010 (it used to be 173$CAN - if i'm not mistaken again haha!)... you give your details online and they email you your initial application packet... you fill these out and send it back to them... you can pay using CC or BD... i suggest CC so you'll know they received your application already as they do not contact you for at least three months from the time you submit your application (that is what's happening in my case :-[

i hope this helps you... it's best to have yourself assessed early so you're still here to take care of your requirements... i hope everything works out well for you ;D

i wish you well... goodluck!

halo
how many times i can attend crne exam?im waiting for my med. thank u

Just an update, finally i received my medical request forms. Thank God!

To the second coursers who applied in Ontario:

Did you submit the Verification of Course Completion and Transcript Request Form to the university or school where you had your first degree (non-nursing)? Parang wala akong napansin tinanong nila yun at any point sa initial application form nila.

Naisip ko hindi kaya makatulong na malaman nila that we had previous degree prior to our nursing degree in order to compensate for the lacking years natin sa primary and secondary years. So if we could prove to them that we had longer years of study e baka maging equivalent na ung BS Nursing natin dito doon sa BScNursing nila.

I already lodged my application with CNO pero ung Transcripts and Course Description lang na related sa BS Nursing ko ang natanggap nila sa initial assessment. Then I received a reply from them last December either to submit additional information or withdraw my application. And I opted to submit additional information. Do you think it would help to submit to them the transcript and course description of my first degree even if it is not related to Nursing?

hi, ur first degree transcript should already be included in your nursing transcript...otherwise, u need to pass all documentation of ur previous education..however, Philippines BSN is really not equivalent to CNO standard..so either they will require u a bridging program or years of experiences before they will grant eligibility to take CRNE.

My wife received her eligibility to sit for CRNE yesterday . she had submitted her application for general classes less than 3 months ago.
she studied 4 years in nursing and 12 years before that. she is graduated from Iran hand hold BS Degree in nursing.
in her package beside eligibility letter there are other forms to collect work experience and license verification as well as application for sitting in CRNE .
but my application is still pending although I have summited my application and documents first.

Nope, i went to canada to sit for the CRNE.

hi, it actually depends on their evaluation..ive read a post before the has 5 yrs of exp in the Phil and was granted eligibility. Mine is only 2 yrs but obtained here in New Zealand.

I have a question for the forum member
What if they ask for SEC assessment and write as
General (medical and surgical) assessment for two days.
whether it means all area or only mediacal surgical nursing (adult health nursing)
what this actually mean??
please give ur opinion
