Hello everyone,
I am facing a dilemma. My wife has one month left of her Temporary Resident Visa and I want to sponsor her (inland). We just started the application, however, and still need to get things like the Police Certificate and do the Medical Exam. I was hoping to include the extension to the TRV along with the sponsorship application, but it looks like I might have to request an extension before I can send the sponsorship application in.
In this case, what reasons can I use for the TRV extension? "In the process of submitting the PR application?" This is the truth, but how likely will they grant an extension based on this statement without proof? What proof can I use? Attach a half-finished sponsorship application?
The other alternative would be to try and finish the sponsorship application as soon as possible, but it's risky with just a month left of the visa expiring and I don't want to rush things. Any thoughts or suggestions on what would be the best way to proceed? My fear is that they might not grant a visa extension unless we have better reasons than a PR application in the works. What about we just got married (last month!) and want to spend more time together. Should I even mention the PR application?
Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!
