3 year program at a college

hi guys,
I have a 2 year college diploma from a college in Canada. There is a one year program (graduate studies) which is for people who got their 2 year diploma from the same college.
I was wondering if I study that one year graduate studies program, all together would count as 3 years program from my college?
The certificate is for one year but the two years diploma is a precursor to it.
Do you know where or who can I check this with before registering?
